AspenTech Receives Supply-Chain Council Technology Excellence Award

Award for real-time supply chain management solution that delivered 200 percent return-on-investment in 12 months

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2004-- Aspen Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AZPN) today announced that it is the recipient of the prestigious 2004 Supply-Chain Council Award for Supply Chain Management Technology Excellence. The award was received for the implementation of an integrated, real-time supply chain management solution for a customer in the consumer packaged goods industry. The AspenTech project was chosen from over 20 nominations for the award submitted by a range of leading supply chain consultants and technology vendors.

The winning project is an integrated production scheduling and Capable-to-Promise (CTP) solution for a complex manufacturing process involving multiple plants. Both the scheduling and CTP applications are components of AspenTech's broad range of supply chain solutions, which represents more than 20 years of development and domain experience in the process industries. The awards program was the fourth annual competition among practitioners, technology companies, consultants, system integrators and academics, and is designed to recognize world-class performance and contributions in the area of supply chain management. The Award for Supply Chain Management Technology Excellence is presented to the organization that has developed a methodology or product that enables superior performance in supply chain operations.
